
TOWN OF WOODSTOCK
NOTICE OF SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
AUGUST 26, 2008
A Special Town Meeting of the electors and citizens qualified to vote in town meetings of the Town of Woodstock, Connecticut, will be held at the Woodstock Town Hall, 415 Route 169 in the Town of Woodstock, Connecticut on August 26, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. for the following purposes:
1. To choose a moderator
2. To discuss and vote upon the acceptance as a Town Highway, Aplin Hill Lane, which is 1,435 feet long and ends in a cul-de-sac, as has been recommended by the Board of Selectmen and the Planning and Zoning Commission.
3. To discuss and vote upon the acceptance as a Town Highway, Tayler Trail, which is 1,409 feet long and ends in a looped road, as has been recommended by the Board of Selectmen and the Planning and Zoning Commission.
4. To discuss and vote upon an ordinance “Authorizing Tax Exemptions for Farm Buildings” as presented below:
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR FARM BUILDINGS
BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY THE TOWN OF WOODSTOCK
Pursuant to the authority of the General Statues Section 12-91(c), the Town of Woodstock hereby provides an exemption from property tax for any building, to the extent of an assessed value of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) used, actually and exclusively in farming, as defined in General Statues Section 1-1. Such exemption shall not apply to any resident of such farmer and shall be subject to the application and qualification process provided in General Statues Section 12-91 (d), this ordinance to be effective with assessment years
beginning October1,2008.
